The Creative Process:
Creative
Process are as follows:
Preparation
This is the first stage in which the foundations of
creativity and innovation are defined. The mind is ready for later use in
creative thinking. During preparation, individuals are encouraged to appreciate
the fact that every opportunity provides a context in which they can learn from
education and experience.
Striving for more
knowledge fuels the creative side. . You can do this by reading about different
topics and subjects and participating in discussions with others. Part of the
preparation includes attending brainstorming sessions in various forums such as
seminars of experts and trade associations, and time to research other
countries and cultures to identify viable opportunities. Importantly, you need
to develop your personal ability to listen and learn from others.
Investigation
Enhancing Entrepreneurial Creativity and Innovation During
this stage, business owners spend time examining the problem at hand and its
various components.
Transformation
Information thus collected and obtained must be subjected to
convergent and divergent thinking that helps highlight inherent similarities
and differences. Convergent thinking helps identify similarities and related
aspects, while divergent thinking highlights differences. This dual mindset is
particularly important in enabling creativity and innovation because:
1. You can
skim the details to see what the big picture is
2. Can
rearrange the components of a situation/problem and identify new patterns
3. Helps visualize
different approaches that can be used to simultaneously address problems and
opportunities
4. Improve
decision-making skills and reduce the urge to make quick decisions
Incubation
At this stage, which calls for creativity and innovation, it
is imperative that the subconscious reflects the accumulated information .i.e.
This can be improved or extended if the entrepreneur:
1. Engaging in
activities unrelated to the issue/opportunity under consideration
2. Taking time
to daydream, i.e. letting the mind wander beyond voluntary or other limits relax
and play
3. Study the
problem/opportunity in a completely different environment
Illumination
It occurs during the incubation period and is often
spontaneous. Insights from past stages are combined into breakthroughs in this
moment.
Verification
Here the entrepreneur tries to determine whether the
creativity of thought and the action of innovation are really as effective as
expected. Simulations, pilots, prototyping, testing he may include activities
such as marketing and various experiments. The tendency to ignore this phase
and rush headlong into breakthroughs may be tempting, but the transformation
phase (Phase 3) requires new ideas to be put to the test.
Implementation
It is here that the products of creativity and innovation
come to life and make the difference between an inventor and an entrepreneur.
